I am passionate about helping individuals navigate through the healing process of trauma and the different symptoms that trauma brings to an individuals’ life, such as depression, PTSD, anxiety disorder, low self-esteem, and substance abuse, to name a few. I help individuals, which includes teens, young adults, adults, and families find healthy perceptions of themselves and strengthen their relationships to know themselves as peaceful, complete, whole and safe while. All while going through the journey of the healing process of trauma.

My educational background includes a master’s degree in social work from Aurora University in Aurora IL. I have a B.A in Human Services from National Louis University in Chicago IL. I am certified as an Alcohol Drug Counselor in IL, and my recent addition as an EMDR trained clinician from EMDR International Association. I have been in human services and social work for over ten years, working in outpatient settings to inpatient/ residential settings in mental health and addiction, working with adolescents, adult males, and females. I view the counseling process as an alliance between the individual and the therapist, and I consider the individual as the expert.

I know that no single approach is the right one for every individual. I have been trained in different evidence-based practice approaches, which includes EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), MBSR (Mindfulness-based stress reduction), and Somatic Experiencing therapy.

I also have a solid dedication to working with individuals and couples experiencing the painful journey of infertility and complex bereavement.

The infertility journey does not have to be done alone, and I find myself as that person who can help you go through the journey of complex infertility and the different challenges that can bring to each individual and the unity of the couple.

Working with individuals in various mental health struggles has taught me appreciate everyone’s unique journey and the beauty in resiliance that the healing process brings into people’s lives.

I am third generation social worker, immigrant, wife, and mother of a set of twins. I enjoy listening to classical music and Peruvian folklore, weekly yoga, and daily prayer and meditation.
